How to schedule a Google Chat post

    Open the space

    In Google Chat, click the space name at the top, then Apps & integrations.

    Add a webhook

    Choose Webhooks, then Add webhook. Name it, optionally add an avatar URL, and save. Copy the URL.

    Connect it in Postoni

    Add the Google Chat channel in Postoni and paste the webhook URL.

    Write and schedule

    Draft the message, pick a time, and it lands in the space as the webhook.

Does Postoni publish automatically to Google Chat?

Yes. At the scheduled time Postoni sends the message to the space's webhook and it appears in the space.

Do I need Google Workspace?

Yes. Incoming webhooks are available in Google Chat spaces on Google Workspace accounts. Your Workspace admin can turn them off, in which case the Webhooks option is missing.

What is the Google Chat character limit in Postoni?

4,096 characters per message, which keeps messages readable on phones.

What can't a Google Chat webhook do?

It can only post into its own space. It can't send direct messages, read replies or upload files.
