How to schedule a Mastodon post

    Connect your Mastodon account

    Click Mastodon and sign in on the server Postoni is set up for, then approve posting access. Check the note below if your account is on another instance.

    Write within 500 characters

    Tailor the draft for Mastodon. Hashtags help discovery here, since there's no algorithmic feed.

  3. 3

    Add media and alt text

    Attach images or a video and describe each image. Add reply boxes for a thread.

  4. 4

    Schedule it

    Pick a time. Postoni waits for the server to finish processing media, then publishes.

Does Postoni publish automatically to Mastodon?

Yes. Postoni publishes through the Mastodon API at your scheduled time, including media and reply threads.

What is the Mastodon character limit in Postoni?

500 characters per post, the default on most Mastodon servers. If your server allows more, Postoni still keeps to 500 for now.

What can't Postoni set on Mastodon?

Posts go out with public visibility, and content warnings, polls and unlisted or followers-only visibility can't be set from Postoni yet. Use your Mastodon client for those posts.

Does Postoni work with my Mastodon instance?

Postoni currently connects to one Mastodon server, mastodon.social by default. If your account lives on a different instance, contact us before subscribing, or self-host the open-source core and point it at your server.
