Connects through MCP

Schedule social posts with Claude Code

Claude Code already knows what you just shipped. Add Postoni's MCP server (a standard way for AI assistants to use apps) and it can turn a commit log into posts for your channels without leaving the terminal. Everything it writes lands as a draft you approve.

  • Unlimited posts on every plan
  • Cancel anytime
  • Open-source core

Set it up in four steps

  1. 1

    Create a Postoni API key

Sign up at postoni.com, connect your channels, then copy your API key from Settings.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP server

In your terminal, run: claude mcp add --transport http postoni https://postoni.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY", replacing YOUR_API_KEY with your key.

  3. 3

    Check the connection

Run claude mcp list, or type /mcp inside Claude Code, and confirm postoni shows as connected.

  4. 4

Ask for posts in a session

Describe what you want in plain English. Claude Code drafts the posts in Postoni and tells you where to review them.

Configuration for Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http postoni https://postoni.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

Drafts wait for your approval

Anything Claude Code creates lands as a draft on your Postoni calendar. Approve it, edit it, or bin it.

Prompts to try

Talk to it like a coworker who knows your calendar. A few to start with:

  • Read the last 10 commits and write a short changelog post for X and LinkedIn. Schedule it for tomorrow at 10am.

  • Turn CHANGELOG.md for v2.3 into a Dev.to article draft and a Bluesky post linking to it.

  • List my connected Postoni channels and tell me which ones support threads.

Claude Code and Postoni FAQ

Where is the MCP server saved?

By default claude mcp add saves it for the current project. Add the scope flag for user scope if you want Postoni available in every project. Keep your API key out of files you commit.

Will Claude Code publish posts without asking me?

Not by default. Posts created through Postoni's MCP server land as drafts in your calendar, and nothing goes live until you or a teammate approves it. If you trust a workflow, you can allow auto-publish for it later.

Can I use OAuth instead of an API key?

Yes. Leave out the header and Claude Code will offer a browser sign-in through /mcp. The API key route is handy for scripts and headless machines.

Can it post from CI or a script?

For fully automated pipelines, calling the Postoni public API directly is usually simpler. Claude Code is best when you want a human in the loop who reads the draft first.
